Modern Belle is a daily website dedicated to celebrating and living life in the South run by Greenville, South Carolina-based writer Susanne Blumer. Modern Belle features products, design trends, stories, advice and random musings about the South.

Susanne Blumer is a mom of two and wife of one. Originally from Michigan (wasn’t her fault so don’t send hate mail!), she moved to her beloved South in 1987. She married into a very traditional Southern family and has spent years learning about and loving life as a Southerner, albeit a Transplanted one. She stopped saying “pop” and started to say “y’all”, and currently has a Michilina accent, two Southern children, a patient husband and a true love of the history and traditions of the South. She apologizes for the North winning the “War of Northern Aggression”, for being born in Michigan and for the sound of her vowels.  Fortunately her mother-in-law has been training her to be a Southern Belle for many years and has semi-successfully succeeded.
